FG launches Customs Verification Management System to enhance transparency, efficiency, and automation in Nigeria’s customs operations.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially unveiled the Customs Verification Management System (CVMS) a groundbreaking digital innovation designed to modernize and automate the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The CVMS serves as a comprehensive digital platform that enhances the verification of customs documents, ensures the authenticity of clearance procedures, and promotes greater transparency and accountability across all levels of operation.

By centralizing verification processes within a secure, technology-driven framework, the system will drastically reduce manual processing, minimize human errors, and improve the speed of trade facilitation.
According to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the launch of the CVMS represents “a new era of credibility, efficiency, and trust” in Nigeria’s customs verification system. He emphasized that the platform is a crucial step in advancing the NCS towards a fully automated and intelligent customs administration.
The initiative underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging digital technology to strengthen national security, enhance revenue generation, and enforce compliance in international trade operations.
With the introduction of the CVMS, Nigeria joins the global community of nations adopting smart customs technologies that foster transparency, speed, and innovation in cross-border trade.
