The Federal Government of Nigeria has released important instructions to applicants of the ongoing Fire Service recruitment exercise, warning that compliance with the outlined requirements will be a key factor before shortlisting begins.
The announcement, made through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), is part of the nationwide recruitment drive designed to strengthen manpower across critical security and emergency response agencies.

According to CDCFIB, candidates must prioritize:
- Physical Fitness: Applicants are advised to maintain regular exercise routines such as jogging, stretching, and light cardio to build stamina for upcoming screening activities.
- Good Health: Medical fitness will be an essential requirement. Candidates are encouraged to eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and proteins, while avoiding habits that may compromise health.
- Mental Readiness: Beyond physical health, applicants should prepare themselves psychologically for the demands of paramilitary service, ensuring adequate rest and sleep to improve focus and resilience.
The Board emphasized that the recruitment exercise covers superintendent, inspector, and assistant cadres. However, applicants are strictly instructed to apply to only one service under the recruitment umbrella to avoid automatic disqualification.
