Governor Alex Otti to commission Ovom Street and flag off Enyimba International Hotel reconstruction with Radisson Blu in Aba.

The Abia State Government has announced a major double event in Aba as Governor Alex Chioma Otti prepares to flag off the reconstruction of the Enyimba International Hotel in partnership with Radisson Blu and commission the newly completed Ovom Street project.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, the government described the engagements as key milestones in the ongoing transformation of Aba under Governor Otti’s administration.

The first event will see Governor Alex Chioma Otti commission the reconstructed Ovom Street in Aba North Local Government Area at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The once severely eroded and impassable area has been converted into a modern, motorable road. The intervention addressed a long-standing environmental challenge, restoring access, improving safety, and boosting economic activities for residents and businesses in the area.

Later at 1:00 PM, the Governor will officially flag off the rebuilding of the Enyimba International Hotel at Ogbor Hill, Aba. The project, to be redeveloped under the globally recognized Radisson Blu brand, is expected to reposition Aba as a leading commercial and hospitality hub in Nigeria.

The hotel redevelopment carries the theme “From Vision to Structure; The Phoenix of Aba,” symbolizing the city’s rebirth and renewed economic confidence. According to the government, the project is designed to attract international investment, stimulate tourism, and create sustainable employment opportunities within Abia State.

The Ovom Street reconstruction has also been described as a remarkable engineering turnaround. What was once a hazardous gully erosion site has now been transformed into durable infrastructure that reconnects communities and enhances property values.

The project reflects the administration’s broader strategy of tackling environmental degradation while delivering practical, long-term solutions.

Government officials, members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, business leaders, and residents are invited to witness the historic engagements. Guests are advised to arrive early and be seated before the Governor’s arrival.

These projects further reinforce the administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal, urban modernization, and sustainable economic growth in Aba and across Abia State.
