Governor Alex Otti approves key appointments in Abia’s communications sector, naming Ememanka and Obinna to strategic roles effective December 1, 2025.
The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has approved two significant appointments aimed at strengthening the state’s communications framework and enhancing the dissemination of government policies and programmes.
In an official statement issued on November 30, 2025, the Governor appointed Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka as the Director General of the Abia State Strategic Communications Bureau. Sir Ememanka is expected to oversee the state’s communication strategies, coordinate public information management, and ensure effective engagement with citizens through structured communication channels.
Governor Otti also approved the appointment of Comrade Igwe Samuel Obinna as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media. In this capacity, Comrade Obinna will manage the government’s digital communications, expand its online visibility, and support the integration of contemporary media practices into public communication efforts.
According to the statement signed by Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, both appointments take effect from December 1, 2025.
