Honorable, Chinedu Nwosu, the special assistant to Governor Otti on Students’ Affairs pays visit to Federal Medical Center, Umuahia: Show of Solidarity for Miss Faithful Chinedu.
On the occasion of Workers’ Day, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti led a delegation to the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia to visit Miss Faithful Chinedu, a 200-level Physiology student of Abia State University, Uturu. Miss Chinedu was subjected to a heinous act of violence by her roommate, a 100-level Public Health student of the same university, who allegedly bathed her with hot water.
The purpose of his visit was multifaceted: to assess the extent of her injuries, gather first-hand information about the incident, and ascertain the level of concern displayed by the university authorities. In his words, his findings would subsequently be reported to His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State.
As he arrived at the medical center, emotions grew stronger, prompting them to invite Dr. Acho Elendu, Registrar, and Prof. Dick Uduma, Dean of Students’ Affairs, to join us. He appreciated their prompt response and assurance of providing Miss Chinedu with good health welfare and justice.
His benevolent visit aimed to alleviate the financial burden on Miss Chinedu and her family. Her mother, overcome with emotion, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Alex Otti for the visit and financial assistance, which they acknowledged would not be taken for granted.
The delegation comprised notable figures, including Dr. Acho Elendu, Registrar; Prof. Dick Uduma, Dean of Students’ Affairs; Comrade Ugoani Emmanuel, SUG President of Abia State University, Uturu; and prominent leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), such as Comrade Mbakwe Sunday, Zonal Representative Zone-F (South-East); Comrade, Ngerem Joseph, State Coordinator of Students’ Wing of Abia Arise; Comrade Joshua Nwachukwu (Fada-J), Former Zonal Representative, NANS Zone-B; Comr Frank Eme Orji, Pioneer Zonal Representative NANS Zone-F, Comrade, Daniel Obioma; and Comrade, Nwokoma Ihechiluru Michael representing NANS JCC Chairman of Abia State.
This visit demonstrates our collective commitment to supporting Miss Chinedu during this challenging time and ensuring that justice is served, Honorable Chinedu Nwosu said. He said that his excellency the governor of Abia state stand in solidarity with her, and his efforts will continue to guarantee her well-being and protection.
