According to Aguocha, “The decision by Governor Alex Otti to reach out to Abians in the diaspora is not just a political gesture but a strategic development move. The diaspora community is a treasure trove of skills, investments, and networks that, when effectively harnessed, can accelerate Abia’s growth and prosperity. This administration is wisely tapping into that potential.”
Highlighting the improved security landscape in the state, the federal lawmaker assured that Abia is now more open and safer for business, thereby creating a conducive environment for both local and foreign investors.
“Security is the foundation for any meaningful investment. I am glad to see that Abia has made significant strides in this regard. We can confidently tell our brothers and sisters abroad that their home is ready for them to bring in their investments, expertise, and innovations,” Aguocha said.
He further stressed the importance of coordinated engagement between the government and the diaspora, urging the state to create structured channels for collaboration and feedback.
“For this partnership to thrive, it must be intentional and continuous. We must build platforms where diaspora voices are heard, their needs are understood, and their contributions are strategically integrated into our development plans,” he added.
Aguocha also expressed optimism that the governor’s openness to diaspora partnerships will strengthen the state’s economic resilience and create opportunities for job creation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable growth.
“I believe that the seeds being planted today will, in the near future, yield a harvest of prosperity for Abians everywhere, both at home and abroad,” he concluded.
