PRESS RELEASE
PERSONAL STATEMENT ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND CALL FOR AMICABLE RESOLUTION
RE: PRESS RELEASE BY CHIEF [ENGR] AKO OBIOMA [AKUBARAOHA – UMUOKPARA]
7th/February/2026
Above subject matter refers.
- My name is Chief Obi Aguocha, a native of Okaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.
- I am writing in my private capacity as a friend and brother, one with close personal relationships with the author and his immediate extended family, especially as it concerns the lingering issues raised in the publication.
- I am pained concerning the matter presently generating public commentary and wrongly held perception, which is, in essence, a family issue between two highly respected Obioma brothers.
- As a long-standing family friend, I have consistently and deliberately chosen to play the stabilising role encouraging restraint, dialogue, and a peaceable resolution, fully aware that conflicts within families are best resolved in-house with wisdom rather than public spectacle.
- Additionally, I have always extended my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all my teaming supporters, well-wishers, and stakeholders who stood resolutely throughout the election and nine [9] pre/post election court processes.
- Whether their contribution was ₦1,500 [late Ononogbu Agomuo Agwu – aka, Ohuhu First Son] or, in the case of the author, ₦250,000 [Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Naira, only]. I wholeheartedly remain equally thankful. The election we collectively undertook and decisively won was both arduous and financially demanding. All those involved understand the depth of commitment required to constest and successfully defend the outcome of a Federal House of Representatives seat.
- In all things, however, glory belongs to God alone, who crowned our efforts with success.
- While the author acknowledges the existence of even a partial channel of communication with me, it must be responsibly and deliberately utilised. Peace is neither accidental nor automatic; it requires conscious effort, mutual respect, and the collective willingness of all parties to prioritise stability over pride.
- I remain confident that wisdom will prevail.
- God bless the great and discerning people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Federal Constituency.
Signed:
Chief Obi Aguocha,
