The Lagos State Commissioner of Police has officially declared Nigerian activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, wanted over alleged violations of public order and security protocols.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Command confirmed that the declaration follows intelligence reports linking Mr. Sowore to activities considered disruptive to peace and stability within the state. The authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to locate and bring him in for questioning.
Mr. Sowore, a former presidential candidate and a prominent advocate for democratic governance and civil rights, has a history of confrontations with law enforcement agencies over his activism and public demonstrations.
