The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of recruitment for the Short Service Combatant (SSC) Commission Course 48/2025, inviting qualified young Nigerians to serve in vital combat and support capacities across the Armed Forces.

According to the official statement issued on Friday, the exercise is open to single Nigerian citizens aged between 23 and 27 years who possess a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) with Lower Credit or a Bachelor’s Degree with Second Class Lower Division in Arts, Sciences, or Humanities.

The Short Service Combatant Commission is a 15-year service tenure, beginning with the rank of Second Lieutenant, and offers deployment opportunities in specialized corps such as Infantry, Armour, Artillery, Engineers, Signals, and Intelligence.

Application Procedure and Closing Date

The Nigerian Army disclosed that the online application process commenced on October 9, 2025, and will end on November 12, 2025. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications exclusively through the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.

Applicants are advised to ensure strict compliance with all requirements, as only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the subsequent selection phases.

Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents

Applicants must:

Be Nigerian citizens by birth.

Be medically, mentally, and physically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.

Have no criminal record or pending case.

In addition, candidates are to present the following documents during the application process:

Birth certificate or age declaration.

Certificate of state of origin.

NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

Attestation letter from an academic institution or employer.

Recent passport photograph.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and merit-based recruitment, emphasizing that the selection process aims to enlist only the most qualified and disciplined individuals dedicated to national service.
