Nigerian Pastor Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo faces an assassination threat for documenting 501 Christian killings in Plateau State. He stands firm, seeking ICC action amid prayers for his safety.
Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a prominent Christian leader in Nigeria, has reportedly received an assassination threat from an anonymous group. The threat is believed to be a direct response to his diligent documentation of violent attacks and killings targeting Christian communities, allegedly perpetrated by Fulani militants in Plateau State.
A Voice Against Violence
Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who leads the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Plateau State, has taken a courageous and public stance against the ongoing violence. His efforts to record the devastating toll on the Christian population have brought him into the crosshairs of those seeking to silence the truth.
In October 2025, the gravity of the situation was underscored when Rev. Dachomo personally presided over a mass burial ceremony for 12 victims. His documentation efforts are extensive; he has recorded a staggering 501 bodies in a local graveyard, providing chilling evidence of the scale of the attacks.
Accusations and International Action
In his public statements, Rev. Dachomo has not held back, directly accusing the federal government of inaction and a failure to adequately protect its citizens. To push for accountability, he has openly threatened to initiate proceedings with the International Criminal Court (ICC), signaling a determination to seek justice on the global stage if domestic measures continue to fall short.
In a recent viral video, the pastor powerfully reaffirmed his dedication to the truth, stating his commitment to documenting the atrocities despite the grave risk to his personal safety.
Calls for Unity Amidst Fear
While standing firm in his commitment to justice for the victims, Rev. Dachomo has also promoted a message of unity. He emphasized his support for building bridges with peaceful members of the Muslim community, and he continues to provide aid to vulnerable Fulani women, illustrating that his fight is against violence and injustice, not against any particular group.
As the threats against him become public, Christians across Nigeria, particularly those residing in Plateau State, have organized prayer vigils for his protection. This communal act of faith reflects the seriousness of the danger, especially given that the region has seen over 200 Christian deaths in 2025 due to the persistent violence.
