Yesterday, May 27th, 2025, I visited Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba,(OGONPOLY) where students gathered to celebrate Children’s Day. I was impressed by the transformation under Dr. CK Okoro’s rectorship by the administration of our Ekwueme- Governor Dr. Alex Otti’s vision.

Upon arrival, I was warmly received by Comrade Emmanuel Franklin Chinedu, SUG President at the SUG Secretariat(Elephant House) During the tour, I witnessed remarkable development in just two years of Governor Otti’s administration. What a popular government!
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Ann Ikechi, praised the governor’s appointments, noting the return of genuine student representation and appreciating timely worker payments. She wished us success and a happy Children’s Day.

Finally, the Rector honored us, thanking Governor Otti for the opportunity to serve. He also endears aspiring students to visit Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba(OGONPOLY), obtain forms for admission into the newly introduced and accredited department of Artificial Intelligence and other fully accredited competitive programs.

He further advised students to be agents of positive change. We were gifted tokens of appreciation, I presented Comrade Emole Joseph, Global President of National Association of Abia State Students (NAASS), to the rector who doubles as “Abia Students Staff Adviser”, President Emole reaffirmed Dr. CK Okoro’s patronage to Abia students, and thank him for support and hand of fellowship between him and SA students affairs to the governor.
I’m glad to see our children doing well in education showing themselves approved. Happy Children’s Day to all Abia Students.
