Oshiomhole Says “Political Sins” Won’t Lead to Hellfire, Sparks Online Backlash
Former Edo State governor and current senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has stirred debate after stating that “political sins” cannot condemn anyone to hellfire. The comment, made during the All Progressives Congress (APC) state congress on Tuesday, has since generated mixed reactions across social media and political circles.
Oshiomhole made the remark while addressing party members at the APC gathering, where leaders and delegates met to consolidate support ahead of future political engagements. In a lighthearted tone, he sought to calm lingering tensions within the party, particularly following internal disagreements that surfaced before the last governorship election.
At the centre of the reconciliation move was the re-elected state chairman, Jarret Tenebe, who had earlier apologized to party stakeholders for actions that may have offended some members during the heated pre-election period. Oshiomhole used the moment to emphasize forgiveness and unity, suggesting that political misunderstandings should not be treated as eternal offenses.
According to the senator, political disputes are part of democratic engagement and should not be equated with moral or spiritual wrongdoing. His remarks were aimed at encouraging party cohesion and moving beyond internal conflicts.
