President Tinubu commends Governor Otti for transforming Aba, commissions 6.7km Port Harcourt Road and seven others in Abia State.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for his remarkable infrastructural strides and commitment to reviving Aba, the commercial heartbeat of the Southeast.
Speaking during the commissioning of the 6.7-kilometre, six-lane dual carriage Port Harcourt Road and seven other newly completed roads in Aba, President Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, praised Otti for transforming the Enyimba city and restoring Abia’s lost glory.

The commissioned roads include Ohanku Road, Ndoki Road by East, Ajiwe Street, Pepple’s Road, Gabriel Nwosu, Nkoro, and Umuatako Roads. The President noted that these projects reflect the people’s renewed confidence in good governance.













“Since I arrived by 10 a.m., we have been commissioning projects, from the Michael Okpara Auditorium to the reclaimed Port Harcourt Road handled by Julius Berger and several others. The speed and quality of work here prove that Abia is back on track,” Umahi quoted the President as saying.

He described Governor Otti as a visionary leader and economist whose administration has rekindled development in the state. Tinubu also reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with sub-national governments to deliver tangible progress across Nigeria.
“I am committed to supporting your Governor to ensure Abia people fully take back their state. The removal of fuel subsidy is already yielding positive results, and Abia is a clear example,” he added.
Governor Otti, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and highlighted the economic significance of the completed projects.
Addressing the issue of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Governor Otti assured the crowd that discussions were ongoing with President Tinubu, expressing optimism about Kanu’s imminent release.
“I have been engaging with Mr. President, and he is positively disposed to Nnamdi Kanu’s release. I am confident it will happen soon,” Otti revealed.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, also lauded Governor Otti’s achievements and called for stronger federal-state collaboration. Kalu particularly praised Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy, which has allowed states like Abia to access more resources for development.
In their goodwill messages, Abia State Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, Hon. Ginger Onwusigwe, and Senator Darlington Nwokocha described Otti’s leadership as transformational, declaring that he had already earned a second term.
Highlighting the day’s significance, the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers conferred a chieftaincy title, Ụdọ Kpụ Enyi 1 of Abia State, on President Tinubu in recognition of his contribution to national development.
The event drew a massive crowd of enthusiastic supporters, government officials, and dignitaries from across the country, marking another milestone in Abia’s path to renewal under Governor Otti’s administration.
