Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured both citizens and international partners that the country remains steadfast in its fight against terrorism. This assurance comes in response to concerns raised by U.S. President Donald J. Trump regarding the persistence of terrorist activities in Nigeria and their impact on regional stability.
Speaking on the matter, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, strengthening national security, and ensuring that extremist groups are dismantled through strategic and coordinated measures.
“I assure you all that we will defeat terrorism in this country,” Tinubu stated, emphasizing that Nigeria would not relent in its counter-terrorism campaigns across affected regions.
The President highlighted ongoing reforms within the defense and intelligence sectors, including enhanced military operations, improved cross-agency intelligence sharing, and stronger collaborations with global security allies. He noted that terrorism, while a global challenge, demands persistent and unified action at both national and international levels.
Tinubu further expressed appreciation for the continued support from the United States and other partner nations, stating that cooperation remains vital in tackling violent extremism and cutting off its financial and logistical networks.
The administration has also pledged to invest more in local communities, education, and employment initiatives aimed at reducing radicalization and strengthening social stability key steps in addressing the root causes of insecurity.
