Mr. Kelvin Chimezirim Wogu, widely recognized by his moniker Kelvin Suka, a distinguished figure in Nigerian student politics, has formally announced his defection to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Mr. Wogu previously served as the National Secretary of the Nigerian Legislative Students Association.
In an exclusive interview following his declaration, Mr. Wogu articulated his strategic rationale for joining the party, stating:
“The structure of the PDP is demonstrably intact and possesses the requisite capacity to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, contingent upon party members undertaking appropriate measures and maintaining unwavering focus.”
Addressing inquiries regarding the recent wave of defections from the party, Mr. Wogu offered a pragmatic perspective:
“Such movements are a commonplace occurrence within the political landscape; individuals primarily driven by the pursuit of power will invariably change affiliations. Nevertheless, the PDP retains its formidable position as the party to contend with, both at the presidential level and across state and national assembly elections.”Mr. Wogu’s decisive entry into mainstream politics signifies a pivotal moment in his leadership trajectory. This strategic move is widely interpreted as the commencement of a new chapter as he positions himself for active participation in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
