The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a Ghanaian national, Mr. Samuel Frimpong, following an alleged case of unlawful eviction involving one of his tenants in Port Harcourt.
According to police reports, Mr. Frimpong, who owns a residential property located at No. 7 Chief Chike Street, Mgbuoba, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, is accused of forcefully removing the roof of a building occupied by his tenant, Mr. Anozie Tochukwu.
The incident reportedly occurred during a dispute between the landlord and the tenant, leading to significant damage to the rented apartment. The action drew public attention and prompted intervention from law enforcement authorities after the matter was reported.
Police operatives swiftly moved in and arrested the landlord, describing the act as unlawful and a violation of tenancy laws. The Rivers State Police Command emphasized that landlords are not permitted to take the law into their own hands, regardless of disputes with tenants.
