Students at Umuagu Community Primary School are set to benefit from a significantly improved learning environment following a generous donation of classroom desks and exercise books by Rtn. Uchechukwu Udeji. The handover ceremony, held today at the school premises, was attended by representatives from members of the Rotary Club of Umuahia North, school management, teachers, students, and community leaders.
The donation, comprising over 20 brand-new classroom desks and over 50 bundles of exercise books, addresses a critical need within the school. Prior to this intervention, many students at Umuagu Community Primary school were reportedly sharing desks or sitting on the floor due to an insufficient supply of furniture. The shortage of exercise books also presented a significant challenge for both students and teachers.
During the handover ceremony, Rtn. Uchechukwu Udeji the president of Rotary club Umuahia North emphasized their commitment to supporting quality education. “We believe that every child deserves access to a conducive learning environment,” said the president “This donation is a testament to our dedication to empowering the next generation by providing them with the basic tools they need to succeed academically. We hope these desks and exercise books will significantly ease the learning process for the students of Umuagu Community Primary/Secondary school.”
The Principal expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the school community. “Rtn. Uchechukwu Udeji and the Rotary club Umuahia North has truly made a remarkable impact on our school today,” said the Principal. “These desks will provide our students with comfortable and proper seating, fostering better concentration and engagement in the classroom. The exercise books will also ensure that our students have the necessary materials to complete their assignments and consolidate their learning. This donation will undoubtedly enhance the quality of education we can provide.”
The new desks are expected to immediately improve classroom dynamics by providing individual workspaces for students, promoting better posture, and reducing distractions. The abundant supply of exercise books will ensure that all students have the necessary materials for note-taking, assignments, and practice exercises throughout the academic year.
