Nigerian politician and businessman, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has officially announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as courageous, intelligent, and reform-driven.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the former lawmaker expressed his confidence in President Tinubu’s economic vision, stating that the nation is finally on a path to long-term prosperity through bold and necessary reforms.
“I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know his mind, courage, and conviction. He is not driven by applause, but by results,” Murray-Bruce said. “For the first time in our history, we have a President who truly understands finance and views the economy not as a political slogan, but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe.”

According to the former senator, the painful reforms currently being implemented are laying the groundwork for a more prosperous Nigeria. He emphasized that the transition toward a free-market economy would encourage hard work, innovation, and self-reliance qualities essential for national development.
Murray-Bruce also highlighted the administration’s achievements in security and economic stabilization, noting that the appointment of the National Security Adviser has reshaped the country’s security structure, while the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has taken steps to rebuild confidence and restore the dignity of the naira.
On infrastructure, he commended the President for his commitment to nationwide development, describing Tinubu’s infrastructural agenda as “unprecedented.” He cited improvements in roads, ports, airports, and housing projects as visible signs of progress.
“I know it is still a difficult season for many families. But reform is never painless. It is in moments like these that nations are reborn,” he added.
Murray-Bruce concluded by saying his defection was not for political gain but for national progress. “I am joining the APC because I believe in Tinubu’s vision. His leadership, guided by courage and intellect, will deliver the Nigeria we have all dreamed of. In eight years, Nigeria will witness phenomenal growth,” he declared.
