Senator Seriake Dickson Slams Gov. Diri Over Defection to APC, Reaffirms Loyalty to PDP [VIDEO]

Former Bayelsa State Governor and current Senator representing Bayelsa West, Seriake Dickson, has openly criticized the recent defection of Governor Douye Diri to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as unnecessary and politically unconvincing.

Speaking on the matter, Senator Dickson expressed disbelief at the wave of politicians switching allegiance to the ruling party, questioning the motives behind the trend.

“Everyone is rushing to the ruling party; you don’t even know what is pushing them or what they are pursuing. The governor consulted me several times, and I was not convinced because I didn’t see any compelling reason for a second-term governor to defect,” he stated.

Dickson emphasized that despite pressures and political shifts, he remains steadfast in his commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he has built his political career and contributed significantly to Bayelsa’s development.

He further noted that party loyalty and ideological consistency remain vital for Nigeria’s democratic growth, urging political leaders to prioritize integrity over opportunistic alliances.
