Kwara State ends PTA levy in public schools, introduces annual school grants to promote free and quality education.
In a major policy shift aimed at easing the financial burden on parents, the Kwara State Government has officially abolished the payment of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) levy in all public primary schools across the state.
The state government announced that, moving forward, schools will receive annual grants to support administrative and operational needs previously funded through PTA contributions. This move is part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s ongoing reforms to promote free and equitable access to quality basic education in Kwara State.

Officials explained that the new policy is designed to eliminate hidden charges that often discourage enrollment, especially among children from low-income families.
