Benue State was thrown into political excitement on Friday as Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia inaugurated 17 newly appointed commissioners in Makurdi, with a powerful charge to deliver loyalty, accountability, and results.

The dramatic ceremony, held at the Old Banquet Hall of Government House, Makurdi, was graced by top dignitaries, political leaders, and traditional rulers.

In a fiery speech, Governor Alia reminded the new commissioners that their positions carry enormous responsibility, stressing that the people of Benue will judge them by their performance.

“Service in this administration must be marked by integrity, transparency, and closeness to the grassroots. Benue people expect results, and there will be no room for excuses,” Alia declared.

Amid swirling rumours of discord, the governor firmly dismissed speculations about replacing his Deputy Governor, Dr. Sam Ode, describing him instead as “a dependable and trusted partner in governance.”

With the new cabinet now in place, all eyes are on Governor Alia’s team to see whether they can fast-track Benue’s development agenda and live up to the governor’s tough expectations.
