The Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked their place at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following a 3–1 aggregate victory over Benin Republic in the final qualifying round.
Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, nine-time champions of Africa, delivered a composed performance over both legs to confirm their qualification. The Falcons secured a 2–0 win in the first leg before earning a hard-fought 1–1 draw in the return fixture, ensuring progression to the continental tournament.
Reacting to the team’s qualification, Dr. Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), praised the players and technical crew for their commitment and consistency.
