Lagos, Nigeria — August 28, 2025
Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, sparked widespread panic late Wednesday after a viral livestream appeared to show him being abducted by armed men in Lagos.
The disturbing clip, which spread rapidly across TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), showed Peller being forcefully dragged from his car by unidentified men before the stream abruptly ended. Viewers immediately raised alarm, fearing the entertainer had been kidnapped.
Police Step In
The Lagos State Police Command has now confirmed that Peller is safe and was never abducted. According to a statement released Thursday morning, officers traced the incident and found the social media star unharmed, with his car and personal belongings intact.
“We can confirm that Peller is at home, safe and sound. No abduction took place,” police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin clarified, urging Nigerians to stop circulating unverified claims.

Confirmation From Close Associates
Adding to the relief, Peller’s colleague Sandra Benede went live on Instagram, confirming that he had been located and was in contact with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) handling the case. She did not, however, provide further details about the events that led to the alarming video.
Public Reactions
The incident has triggered mixed reactions online, with many fans expressing relief at Peller’s safety while others criticized the spread of panic-inducing videos without proper verification.
Some commentators also questioned whether the livestream was a publicity stunt, though neither Peller nor the police have addressed that speculation.
Final Word
For now, what is clear is that Peller remains alive, safe, and unharmed, despite the initial scare. Authorities have advised the public to rely on official updates rather than social media speculation as investigations continue.
