President Tinubu appoints new heads and board members for SHESCTO, NEMSA, and nominates RMAFC commissioners for Senate confirmation.

President Bola Tinubu has approved a new round of strategic appointments aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s science, technology, and power regulation institutions, according to a statement released by the State House.

Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja. SHESCTO is a key federal research institution tasked with advancing scientific innovation, technological development, and the operation of Nigeria’s nuclear research facilities.

In the power sector, President Tinubu named Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA). The agency plays a critical role in ensuring safety, compliance, and technical standards across Nigeria’s electricity supply industry.

The President also constituted a new board for NEMSA, appointing professionals and regional representatives to strengthen oversight and governance. The board members include Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director (Technical), Ikechi Clara Nwosu as Chairman representing the South East, Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris, Igba Elizabeth representing the North Central, Sani Alhaji Shehu representing the North East, Adeyemi Adetunji representing the South West, Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe representing the South South, and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa representing the South East.

Beyond the science and power sectors, President Tinubu also nominated two new commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). Amina Gamawa was nominated to represent Bauchi State, while Abdullahi Muktar was nominated to represent Kaduna State.

Both nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation, in line with constitutional requirements.

The appointments reflect the administration’s ongoing efforts to reinforce institutional leadership, promote regional balance, and enhance efficiency across key government agencies.
