Tinubu appoints Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma as Renewed Hope Ambassador to lead nationwide mobilisation and promote key achievements of his administration.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Ambassador, a move signaling intensified national mobilisation ahead of upcoming grassroots development initiatives.
The announcement, released on Monday through the State House, confirms that the appointment takes immediate effect and aligns with preparations for the nationwide rollout of the Ward Development Programme. Uzodimma will also assume an expanded role as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation, strengthening the administration’s communication framework within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
As Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Uzodimma is expected to lead coordinated efforts with APC leadership and other governors who will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope to promote the administration’s policies, reforms, and national achievements.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga stated that Uzodimma’s mandate includes fostering “harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination” across party structures while boosting grassroots awareness of the Renewed Hope agenda.
President Tinubu urged the new ambassador to deepen public engagement on the government’s recorded gains since May 2023. He highlighted key improvements such as Nigeria’s sustained inflation decline for seven months to 16.05% in October, stabilisation of the exchange rate, and a significant rise in foreign reserves to over $46 billion, compared to the $32 billion with a net $4 billion balance inherited in 2023.

Other milestones outlined include growing investor confidence, rising foreign capital inflows, a robust stock market rebound, accelerated diversification into solid minerals, the enrolment of more than 700,000 students under the liberalised student loan programme, and the reduction of passport processing time to one week.
The President expressed confidence that Governor Uzodimma and other APC governors will effectively broadcast these developments and deepen national support for the Renewed Hope vision.
