President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally written to the Nigerian Senate, seeking the confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, SAN, from Enugu State, as a Minister of the Federal Republic.
The nomination follows the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, who recently stepped down from his position as Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology. Dr. Ude, a respected legal practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the federal cabinet once confirmed by the Senate.
The President’s request was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session. The Senate is expected to screen and confirm the nominee in accordance with constitutional procedures.

Dr. Ude’s appointment, if approved, will fill the vacancy in the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, ensuring continuity in the government’s agenda for scientific advancement and technological development in Nigeria.
