In a decisive move aimed at restoring normalcy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the immediate return of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, following the expiration of emergency rule in the state.
Reliable sources from the Presidency confirmed that the President emphasized the need for stability, good governance, and adherence to democratic processes in Rivers State. According to the directive, the ongoing state of emergency, which was imposed to manage heightened political tensions, will officially end at midnight.

The President reportedly noted that with improved security and dialogue between key stakeholders, there was no further justification for extending emergency measures. He urged all political actors and residents to cooperate with Governor Fubara as the state transitions back to regular governance.
