Umuahia, Abia State – June 27, 2025 – Today marks a significant day in Abia State as Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM are officially launched, coinciding with the 44th birthday celebrations of media entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu.

The day’s events began with a Grand Opening Ceremony at 10 AM at the Umuawa Alaocha Town Square, featuring cultural performances, traditional dances, and the symbolic cutting of the ribbon to mark the stations’ first live broadcasts. Don FM is set to bring fresh, urban, and youth-driven content, while Ikoro FM will focus on celebrating and preserving Igbo heritage through storytelling and local voices.

The celebrations are expected to culminate tonight with a mega celebration concert at the Umuahia Township Stadium, starting at 1 PM and continuing into the evening. The event, which also serves as a birthday bash for Don Lulu, promises a star-studded lineup of legendary and contemporary artistes.
Attendees can look forward to electrifying performances from acclaimed musicians such as Bright Chimezie, Davido, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Jeriq, and Zoro. The stage will also be graced by popular comedians Funnybone and Sabinus, ensuring a night filled with laughter. Adding to the star power is nightlife personality Cubana Chief Priest, among many other notable personalities.
This dual celebration not only signifies a bold step for radio in the region but also highlights Don Lulu’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment, with plans to unveil training opportunities in broadcasting and entertainment for young people. The event is open to all, with free entry.
