PRESS RELEASE-
Hon. Chinedu Nwosu, Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Students Affairs, is spearheading an initiative to digitize the students’ database and introduce the Unified Tertiary Students Identity Card (UNITIC).
This project aims to enhance accessibility, transparency, and communication between students and the government.

The UNITIC card will feature a quick response code, enabling easy identification of students. Additionally, a UNITIC app will be developed to collect personal information of Abia State students studying in other states and abroad.
Hon. Chinedu Nwosu met with Prof. Uche Eme-Uche, the Honorable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, to collaborate on this project. Prof. Uche Eme-Uche expressed satisfaction with the initiative and pledged her support.
The project’s objectives include:
- Easy Accessibility and Communication: Enhance communication between students and the government
- Transparency in Government Bursary Programs: Increase transparency and accountability in government-funded programs
- Identification of Real Students: Verify student identities to prevent fraudulent activities
- One-Stop Shop: Establish a centralized platform for student information and services
Hon. Chinedu Nwosu has called on all heads of tertiary institutions in Abia State to prepare for the digitization of their students’ databases and to receive the technical team for assistance and cooperation.
