VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof engage in a mid-flight brawl on a Asaba–Lagos flight, leading to their removal, police detention, and possible NCAA sanctions.
A heated confrontation between popular Nigerian social media personalities VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse) and Mr Jollof (Freedom Atsepoyi) disrupted a United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday morning, causing panic among passengers and attracting swift law-enforcement action.
The clash occurred aboard a flight scheduled to depart from Asaba to Lagos. Witnesses reported that the argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, with both influencers throwing punches. An alleged biting incident further intensified the fracas, forcing cabin crew to intervene before the aircraft could take off.
The altercation is believed to be a continuation of their long-running online rivalry, which has simmered since 2024. Their actions not only violated aviation safety rules but also put the lives of fellow passengers at risk.
Following their removal from the aircraft, the Delta State Police Command detained both men for questioning. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) later condemned the incident, stressing that unruly behavior aboard aircraft is a punishable offense. The agency also confirmed that sanctions and possibly criminal prosecution would follow after a full investigation.
