The attention of the office of Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, has been drawn to the activities of a certain fraudulent individual identified as Mr. Peter Idoko, who is currently impersonating Hon. Obi Aguocha on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Mr. Idoko, using the phone number 09069221422, has been scamming unsuspecting members of the public by posing as Hon. Aguocha and discussing fake recruitment opportunities—demanding money in exchange for jobs. This is not only criminal but a gross misrepresentation of the person and integrity of Hon. Obi Aguocha.
For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Obi Aguocha is not associated with any such social media solicitations and will never request money or any form of payment from constituents or the public in return for job placements or appointments. Over the years, Hon. Aguocha has facilitated several genuine employment opportunities for his constituents strictly on merit and without any financial demand.
This is a strong warning to the gullible and unsuspecting public to beware of this scam ring, and avoid any communication with individuals claiming to be Hon. Aguocha via unverified social media accounts or phone numbers.
We are pleased to inform the public that security agencies have been properly notified and are already tracking this criminal network. Anyone with useful information on the activities of Mr. Peter Idoko or his accomplices should report immediately to the nearest police station.
Let it be known that Hon. Obi Aguocha remains committed to transparent, accountable, and selfless service to his constituents and will never engage in or support any form of exploitation.
