Police in Machakos, Kenya are hunting down a man who allegedly k!lled his lover identified as Vero.
Machakos County police commander, Patrick Lobolia, in a statement on Monday said the incident happened at a rented house in the Muvuti area on the outskirts of Machakos town on Sunday night, February 16, 2025.
Lobolia said the cause of the tragic incident is suspected to be a love triangle.
“The incident is suspected to be out of a love triangle. The man reportedly invited the woman to his rented house in the Muvuti area within Machakos subcounty, apparently r3ped her before k!lling her,” Lobolia said.
Lobolia said the matter was reported to Machakos police station as a murder incident report.
He said officers from Machakos police station responded to the scene and processed it before removing the body which was taken to Machakos Level 5 hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
The police boss said Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives attached to the Machakos police station had launched a probe into the incident.
“The DCI officers are already investigating the incident, they are in hot pursuit of the suspect,” Lobolia said.
He condemned the incident stating that no one should take the law into his or her own hands.
