The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across several parts of Nigeria from Monday through Wednesday.
According to the agency’s latest weather outlook released in Abuja on Sunday, many parts of the country are expected to experience varying weather conditions during the three-day forecast period.
NiMet said thunderstorms and moderate rains are likely to affect several locations, while the southern region is expected to witness more widespread rainfall.
Residents in affected areas have been advised to take necessary precautions, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
The forecast comes as different parts of Nigeria continue to experience changing weather patterns associated with the rainy season, with rainfall intensity expected to vary across the country’s regions.
NiMet regularly issues weather forecasts to provide the public and relevant authorities with information that can help residents, travellers, farmers and other stakeholders plan their activities and prepare for possible weather-related disruptions.
