The Abia State chapter of the Labour Party Nigeria has congratulated the party’s newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC), describing its emergence as a significant step toward strengthening unity and national relevance.
The new leadership, headed by Nenadi Usman as National Chairman and Iheanacho Obioma as National Secretary, was praised for representing a fresh phase in the party’s evolution. The Abia chapter noted that the development signals renewed stability and a stronger foundation for future political engagements.
In an official statement, the state leadership also acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing interim committee, commending its “resilient and strategic leadership” during a period characterized by internal challenges and political uncertainty.
Speaking to journalists, the Abia State Chairman, Peter Azubuike, expressed optimism about the direction of the party under the new NWC. He emphasized that the leadership transition offers an opportunity to reinforce internal democracy, rebuild party structures, and enhance the party’s commitment to people-focused governance.
Azubuike assured the national leadership of the Abia chapter’s full backing, stating that the state would continue to serve as a key pillar in the party’s expansion and influence across Nigeria.
He said the chapter remains committed to aligning with the national vision of the party and working collaboratively to ensure its long-term growth and sustainability.
The chairman also extended appreciation to Alex Otti, commending his consistent support and role in boosting the party’s visibility and acceptance. He described the governor as a central figure in driving the Labour Party’s success in the state.

Furthermore, the party leadership applauded members and supporters across Abia for their dedication and loyalty, noting that their steadfast commitment has played a crucial role in maintaining unity within the party.
