“God Wants You to Be a Model” — Cindy Jacobs Commends Gov. Otti as Abia Set to Commission Smart Schools

American gospel minister and co-founder of Generals International, Cindy Jacobs, has declared that the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, is divinely positioned to become a model for leadership and governance.

Jacobs made this statement on Saturday, May 2, during a National Thanksgiving Worship Service held at The Father’s House Church in Abuja, where Governor Otti was present as a special guest.

Speaking during the service, Jacobs who is visiting Nigeria for the first time in over two decades alongside her husband, Mike Jacobs shared what she described as a prophetic vision concerning Abia State. She highlighted ongoing infrastructural developments, particularly road construction projects connecting rural communities and improving access for farmers to transport goods to markets.

According to her, divine provision would continue to support these developments, enabling economic growth and agricultural expansion across the state. She emphasized that Governor Otti’s leadership would stand out as a model for others in the region.

Jacobs further stated that Abia State is on track to become one of the most educated states, attributing this to anticipated policies focused on education reform. She noted that investments in schools and teacher development would serve as a lasting legacy while helping to reduce poverty through improved access to quality education.

In response, Governor Otti acknowledged the remarks, noting that his administration has already prioritized education and healthcare in its budgeting. He revealed that 35 percent of the state’s annual budget is allocated to these sectors, with education receiving 20 percent and healthcare 15 percent.

The governor also disclosed that over 5,300 teachers have been recruited in the first phase of a large-scale employment initiative, with plans underway to hire an additional 4,000 educators. He further announced that three newly constructed smart schools will be officially commissioned before the end of the month, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to modernizing the education sector.

Addressing the congregation, Otti stressed the importance of integrity and accountability in leadership, urging Christians especially those in positions of authority to live out the values they profess. He noted that leadership is fundamentally about service and that actions carry more weight than words.

The governor also underscored the role of righteousness in national development, stating that while prayer and fasting are important, ethical conduct is essential for meaningful progress.

The interdenominational thanksgiving service was organized to pray for peace and healing in Nigeria, particularly in response to ongoing security challenges in parts of the country. It also aimed to seek divine guidance for national growth and unity.
