Abia Government Hails Safe Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers, Commends Tinubu and Security Agencies

The Abia State Government has expressed profound relief and gratitude following the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers who were abducted in Oyo State, describing their safe return as a moment of joy for the entire nation.

In a press statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia State, Citizen Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the government thanked God Almighty for preserving the lives of the victims throughout the traumatic experience.

The statement noted that the safe release of the pupils and their teachers has brought renewed hope to their families and communities. The Abia State Government also prayed for the victims’ complete physical, emotional, and psychological recovery, expressing hope that they would soon return to their normal academic activities.

Governor Alex Otti’s administration, on behalf of the Government and people of Abia State, extended heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing leadership and demonstrating commitment toward securing the release of the kidnapped victims.

The government also applauded the courage, professionalism, and dedication of Nigeria’s security agencies, whose coordinated operations, intelligence gathering, and resilience led to the successful rescue of the children and teachers without further tragedy.

Furthermore, the Abia State Government expressed solidarity with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Government, and the people of the state during the difficult period, acknowledging the emotional burden borne by the families of the victims.

The statement also shared in the joy of the parents and guardians, while praying that such incidents of school abductions and insecurity would never occur again in any part of the country.
