The National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially reversed the zoning arrangement earlier introduced in Abia State, following widespread concerns raised by party stakeholders and key leaders.
In a decisive move, the party announced that all zoning guidelines previously issued by the Abia State Working Committee have been scrapped. This development effectively restores the status quo, allowing for a more open and competitive process ahead of upcoming elections.
With this directive now in place, all interested aspirants whether for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, or Governorship are free to participate without zoning restrictions.
The party has encouraged eligible candidates to proceed with purchasing their nomination forms within the approved timeframe.
The decision signals the APC’s commitment to inclusiveness and internal democracy, ensuring that all aspirants have equal opportunities to contest for positions across various levels.
