The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a public notice warning Nigerians against the spread of false and misleading information regarding its ongoing recruitment exercise.
In a statement released by the Office of the Secretary on June 21, 2026, the Board expressed concern over the increasing circulation of unverified recruitment-related information across various online platforms, especially social media channels.
The Board stated that the misinformation has the potential to create confusion among prospective applicants and negatively affect genuine candidates seeking legitimate opportunities within the recruitment process.
CDCFIB Urges Applicants to Verify Information
To address the situation, CDCFIB advised members of the public to exercise caution and independently verify all recruitment information before acting on it.
According to the Board, misleading messages and unofficial announcements can disrupt the integrity of the recruitment exercise and undermine the aspirations of qualified applicants.

The agency stressed that only information published through its official communication channels should be considered authentic.
Applicants and stakeholders were specifically directed to rely solely on the official CDCFIB recruitment portal: https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng for updates and application-related information.
Legal Action Against Perpetrators of Fake Recruitment Information
CDCFIB disclosed that it has intensified efforts to identify and prosecute individuals or groups responsible for creating and disseminating false information concerning the exercise.
The Board warned that the spread of unauthorized and deceptive information constitutes a criminal offence under existing laws, adding that offenders would be sanctioned accordingly.
It further revealed that it is working closely with relevant security and law enforcement agencies to monitor and address all cases of misinformation linked to the recruitment process.
The statement also served as a final warning to social media users and account holders involved in propagating false narratives surrounding the exercise.
Public Asked to Report Suspicious Content
The Board appealed to Nigerians to support its efforts by reporting suspicious content and refraining from sharing unverified information online.
CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process while protecting the interests of genuine applicants.
The statement was electronically signed by Mrs. Okeh Juliet, Head of Press and Public Relations, for the Secretary to the Board, on June 21, 2026.
