The Labour Party in Abia State has announced plans to hold an Extraordinary Leaders and Stakeholders Meeting as part of strategic efforts to strengthen party unity and consolidate its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Iroegbu Emenike, the meeting is expected to bring together party leaders, elected officials, aspirants, coordinators, and other critical stakeholders from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to the statement, the meeting is designed to deepen consultations, promote inclusiveness, and align party members towards a common objective as political activities gradually begin to intensify ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The party leadership noted that the gathering would serve as an important platform for discussions, interactions, and strategic planning aimed at positioning the Labour Party for greater success in Abia State.
The statement further emphasized the commitment of the party leadership to maintaining peace, unity, and collective participation among members and stakeholders across the state.
The Extraordinary Labour Party Leaders/Stakeholders Meeting is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia by 2:00 pm.
Party leaders and invited stakeholders have been advised to arrive early for accreditation and proper coordination, while attendance remains strictly by invitation.
The Abia State chapter of the Labour Party also expressed appreciation to members and supporters for their continued loyalty, commitment, and contributions toward the growth and stability of the party.
