The Chairman of Don Media Group and Abia State Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), Lucky Obinwa Igbokwe, has recorded a sweeping victory across all 32 wards in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency seat.
The outcome of the primary election further strengthens Mayor Lucky Igbokwe’s growing political influence within the constituency and highlights the widespread support he enjoys among APC delegates, party stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, youths, women groups, and supporters across the three local government areas.
Political observers and party faithful described the victory as a strong indication of his grassroots acceptance, effective political structure, and longstanding commitment to human capital development and community advancement in Abia State.
The APC primary election witnessed active participation from delegates and stakeholders drawn from Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Local Government Areas. At the conclusion of the exercise, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe reportedly secured victory in all 32 APC wards within the federal constituency.
Reacting to the development, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC, ward executives, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him throughout the primary process.
According to him, the victory represents more than a personal achievement, describing it instead as a collective mandate to promote quality representation, grassroots development, and people-focused leadership at the National Assembly.
He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership and promised to carry every stakeholder along in the journey toward building a stronger and more progressive constituency.
Mayor Lucky Igbokwe stated that the overwhelming support received during the primaries has strengthened his resolve to work tirelessly for the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency and justify the trust placed in him by party members.
The APC chieftain also assured constituents that if elected into the House of Representatives, he would aggressively pursue federal presence and developmental projects across the constituency. He identified road infrastructure, healthcare, youth empowerment, agriculture, education, ICT development, rural electrification, and skills acquisition as key priority areas.
He further emphasized that his approach to representation would extend beyond conventional constituency projects, stressing that he would actively engage federal ministries, agencies, and intervention programmes to attract meaningful development to communities across the constituency.
Supporters who reacted after the primary election described Mayor Lucky Igbokwe as a grassroots politician known for humility, accessibility, and dedication to community growth.
Many also referenced his investments in the media sector and employment generation through Don FM and Ikoro FM located in Umuawa Alaocha, Ohuhu, Abia State, noting that his contributions to empowerment and youth development distinguish him from many contemporary politicians.
