Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2026: NAF Opens Application for Tradesmen, Non-Tradesmen

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise for eligible Nigerians seeking to join the service under the Basic Military Training Course 47/2026.

The recruitment is open to applicants interested in the Tradesmen/Women and Non-Tradesmen/Women categories. According to the recruitment notice, online registration begins on September 3, 2026, and will close on October 14, 2026.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE RECRUITMENT 2026 ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must meet the physical, medical and psychological standards prescribed by the Nigerian Air Force.

Candidates must also meet the minimum height requirements of 1.66 metres for males and 1.63 metres for females. Applicants must be free from previous criminal convictions by a court of law.

The application process is FREE OF CHARGE, and candidates are encouraged to avoid individuals who demand money in exchange for recruitment assistance or guaranteed selection.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRADESMEN/WOMEN

Applicants for the Tradesmen/Women category must be between 18 and 27 years old by March 1, 2027.

Candidates with ND/NCE qualifications are expected to have obtained at least a lower credit from an accredited institution. They must also possess a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or equivalent examinations, obtained in not more than two sittings.

Applicants seeking positions such as drivers and other trades requiring trade tests must possess the relevant trade-test certificate. Drivers are also required to have a valid driving licence.

Sportsmen and women applying under the relevant category must provide evidence of professional sporting experience, including certificates and medals where applicable.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-TRADESMEN/WOMEN

Applicants under the Non-Tradesmen/Women category must be between 18 and 22 years old by March 1, 2027.

They are required to have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or equivalent examinations, with the results obtained in not more than two sittings.

Candidates must also possess their Primary School Certificate and Secondary School Testimonial.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

After successfully completing the online application, applicants are expected to print the required documents, including:

• Acknowledgement Form
• Parent/Guardian Consent Form
• Local Government Area Attestation Form

The LGA Attestation Form must be properly endorsed by an authorised official as specified in the recruitment guidelines.

Candidates who fail to successfully complete their applications may not be able to generate the required documents.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE RECRUITMENT APPLICATION DATE

The NAF recruitment portal is scheduled to open for applications on September 3, 2026, while the closing date is October 14, 2026.

Following the application process, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Zonal General Aptitude Test. Only candidates who successfully pass the required stages will proceed to the Selection Interview.
