The Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing has officially launched a free Holiday Computer Training Programme for 120 secondary school students across Ohuhu, reaffirming its commitment to youth development, digital literacy, and community empowerment.
The participants, who successfully completed both online and physical registration, were screened at Egwuneleke Hall in Nkwoegwu before the commencement of the training programme.
Organized in collaboration with Monlink ICT and Power Solution, the initiative is designed to equip students with essential computer and digital skills during the long school vacation, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities in the digital age.
Speaking on the initiative, the President of the Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing, Chief Uchenna Iheanacho, said the programme is part of the union’s broader campaign against drug abuse, cultism, and other social vices among young people.
According to him, keeping students engaged in productive and educational activities throughout the holiday is an effective way to discourage negative influences while encouraging personal growth and skill acquisition.
“In line with our campaign against drug abuse and cultism, we want the students to remain busy during this long vacation,” Chief Iheanacho stated.
The free ICT training is expected to expose participants to practical computer knowledge and digital skills that will improve their confidence and enhance their future prospects in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Community members have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely investment in the education and development of young people in Ohuhu.
