President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commenced a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave, departing Abuja for Europe on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the State House, President Tinubu’s first destination will be London, United Kingdom, where he is expected to begin the working vacation.
The President is scheduled to spend three weeks away from the country before returning to Nigeria to resume official engagements and prepare for the intense political activities expected ahead of the January 2027 general election.
The State House statement, signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the trip forms part of President Tinubu’s annual leave.
While away, the President is expected to undertake the vacation alongside limited official responsibilities, making the trip a working leave.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the three-week break and subsequently join the increasingly busy political campaign activities ahead of the 2027 election.
The announcement comes as political parties and major stakeholders continue preparations for what is expected to be a highly competitive election season.
