The Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has dismissed claims made by TrackNG regarding the Bende school project, describing the report as misleading, inaccurate, and politically motivated.
In a statement released on Friday, the office clarified that lawmakers are primarily responsible for attracting developmental projects to their constituencies, while the implementation and execution of such projects remain the responsibility of the executive arm and relevant government agencies.
The statement further noted that the image of the Deputy Speaker was wrongly associated with the controversy surrounding the project, stressing that the information circulated by TrackNG failed to properly reflect the facts surrounding the initiative.
According to the office, a corrigendum had already been issued to correct the actual location of the project, explaining that the ICT centre in question was meant for Onuinyang and not Bende Grammar School as earlier reported.
The statement also pointed out that Bende Grammar School already has an existing ICT centre, making the claims surrounding the alleged project duplication inaccurate and misleading.
The Office of the Deputy Speaker called on the appropriate procuring agency to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the project is properly delivered for the benefit of the people.
The clarification comes amid growing public discussions over constituency projects, accountability, and the roles played by legislators and implementing agencies in the execution of government-funded projects across the country.

Political observers believe the statement was issued to correct public perception and reaffirm the distinction between project facilitation by lawmakers and actual implementation by government agencies.
