Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved the payment of the first phase of the medical bills of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu, offering timely support as the celebrated actress continues to battle health challenges.
The intervention was announced by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Entertainment, Dr. Justice Okey Martins, popularly known as JMartins, who expressed gratitude to the governor for responding swiftly to the actress’s situation.
According to JMartins, Governor Otti’s approval covers the initial phase of Ngozi Nwosu’s medical expenses. However, he stressed that additional financial assistance will still be required to ensure the veteran actress receives the comprehensive medical care she needs.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), JMartins wrote that Governor Otti had stepped in to provide immediate support for the Abia-born actress.
He noted that the governor approved the payment of the first part of her medical bills as part of efforts to ease the burden of her ongoing treatment.
While appreciating Governor Otti’s compassionate gesture, JMartins appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, friends of the entertainment industry, and supporters of the veteran actress to contribute towards the remaining medical expenses.
He emphasised that public support would go a long way in helping Ngozi Nwosu receive the treatment necessary for her full recovery.
Governor Otti’s intervention has been widely viewed as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to supporting notable Abians, including individuals who have made significant contributions to Nigeria’s creative and entertainment industry.
