APC Abia Disowns Unauthorized Statement Seeking Suspension of City Boys Movement

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State Chapter, has distanced itself from a statement allegedly issued by its State Youth Leader calling for the suspension of the activities of the City Boys Movement across the state.

In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the Abia APC described the purported directive as unauthorized, illegal and malicious, stressing that it was issued without the approval or knowledge of the State Chairman and the State Working Committee (SWC).

According to the party, the statement does not represent the official position of the APC leadership or its members in Abia State.

The party explained that its leadership has been working closely with the City Boys Movement, alongside other support groups and political structures, as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC said the various structures are united around the objective of securing an overwhelming victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates of the party in Abia State in the 2027 elections.

The party consequently cautioned its State Youth Leader against taking actions or issuing public statements without the authorization of the appropriate party organs.

It warned that unauthorized statements could create confusion, fuel disaffection among members and give the public the impression that the party is divided.

The Abia APC urged its members, supporters and affiliated groups to disregard the disputed statement and continue to abide by decisions and directives formally issued by the recognized leadership structures of the party.

The party leadership reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, discipline and cooperation among its members, support groups and stakeholders as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
