Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has approved the appointment of eleven successful officers as Permanent Secretaries in the Abia State Public Service.
The appointments followed the completion of the 2026 Permanent Secretary Selection Exercise, according to a statement issued on September 19, 2026, by Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, on behalf of the Head of Service of Abia State.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
1. Uwaoma Ajike
2. Rollingstone Frances Ogechi
3. Okoro Precious Uma
4. Nwaogwugwu Peace C.
5. Uwajimgba Vincent Uchechukwu
6. Jackson Sunday Onyebuchi
7. Ukpabi Ngozi Juliet
8. Chinyere Josephine Kanno
9. Egesie Ijeoma Michelle
10. Ogugbue Kelechi Stella
11. Chukwuma Thelma Ijeoma
The appointments mark the conclusion of the 2026 selection process and will see the eleven officers assume the responsibilities attached to the position of Permanent Secretary within the Abia State Public Service.
The Permanent Secretary is a senior administrative position in the state civil service, with responsibilities that include supporting policy implementation, coordinating government administration and ensuring continuity in public service operations.
The Abia State Government said further information concerning the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will be announced in due course.
