All roads lead to Afugiri Central School, Ohuhu, Umuahia, Abia State, today, Saturday, August 22, 2026, as the Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing hosts the second edition of the highly anticipated Ohuhu Mega Youth Day Celebration.
The event, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., is expected to bring together young people, traditional leaders, community stakeholders and distinguished guests for a day focused on youth development, leadership and sustainable community growth.
The 2026 celebration is themed “Youths as Catalyst for Sustainable Development,” highlighting the important role young people can play in driving positive change and building a stronger future for Ohuhu and society at large.
The programme is being held under the distinguished chairmanship of Royal High Chief Ugochukwu Edozie, CEO of Rixos Continental Resort. The event will also feature prominent traditional leaders and community figures, including HRM Eze (Sir) Innocent A. Nwigwe and HRM Eze (BLDR) Charles Ngwuli, as Royal Fathers of the Day.
Barr. Chuks Akamadu is billed as the Keynote Speaker, bringing his experience and perspective to discussions around youth empowerment, leadership and sustainable development.
The Ohuhu Mega Youth Day Celebration is expected to provide an important platform for young people to connect, share ideas, celebrate their community and discuss practical ways they can contribute to its social and economic advancement.
