Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has encouraged the youth of the state to wholeheartedly embrace excellence, innovation, hard work, and selfless service as they gear up to play a vital role in shaping the New Abia.
He shared this inspiring message on Saturday, August 29, 2026, during the graduation ceremony for the 2026 Abia State Leadership Academy Youth Leadership Boot Camp, which took place at the International Conference Centre, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia.
A remarkable 1,086 young individuals celebrated their graduation from the four-week leadership program, organized by the Abia State Leadership Academy in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.

In his speech titled “The Leadership Vocation,” Governor Otti extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, emphasizing that their journey through the program signifies the start of a significant responsibility.
He encouraged them to view themselves as part of a new generation capable of making a positive impact in their communities, schools, and society at large.
The Governor urged the graduates to step away from being mere spectators and to actively engage in the New Abia initiative.
“You’re not going back as ordinary individuals anymore. You now belong to a unique community of young thinkers, tasked with the duty to act with distinction and spread the light of excellence wherever you go,” he stated.
Governor Otti elaborated that the journey of rebuilding and transforming Abia State is a long-term, intergenerational endeavor that demands patience, resilience, teamwork, and a deep commitment to service.
