APC extends deadline for nomination forms and submission for 2027 elections, citing public holiday and high aspirant interest.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially extended the timeline for the sale and submission of nomination forms for aspirants preparing for the 2027 General Elections.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held at its National Secretariat in Abuja. The extension is expected to provide additional time for interested candidates to complete the necessary processes.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, confirmed that the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will now end at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026. He also announced that the deadline for submitting completed forms, along with required documentation, has been moved to midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Initially, the sale of forms was scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while submissions were to close on May 4, 2026. However, the party leadership reviewed the timeline following recent developments.
According to Meseko, the extension became necessary due to the public holiday observed nationwide on Friday, as well as the significant turnout and growing interest among aspirants seeking to contest under the APC platform.
